{"id":31,"date":"2016-11-21T16:29:01","date_gmt":"2016-11-21T16:29:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/askalbe.com\/?p=31"},"modified":"2016-11-21T16:29:01","modified_gmt":"2016-11-21T16:29:01","slug":"chimichurri-steak-tacos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/askalbe.com\/?p=31","title":{"rendered":"Chimichurri Steak Tacos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Steak Tacos with Cilantro Chimichurri <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I came across this recipe on FoodGawker randomly but am so glad I did. \u00a0The steak was so flavorful and tender, the marinated onions were spot on and the chimichurri sauce was BOMB. \u00a0When I first put together the marinade for the steak I was a little worried as it smelled strongly of soy sauce but the end result was magical. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This dish works anytime of the year as long as you don\u2019t mind grilling in the snow! \u00a0Word to the wise &#8211; all these components are heavy in the citrus department so feel free to adjust accordingly. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Marinade<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2lbs steak &#8211; preferably flank or similar cut<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 large sweet onion sliced<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice of 1 orange<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice of 2 limes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2153 cup soy sauce<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2153 cup olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pinch of sugar<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4 &#8211; 5 cloves minced garlic<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup chopped cilantro<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 &#8211; 2 tsp of cumin, coriander, and chili powder<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mix it all up in bowl (except for the sliced onions), place steak and onions in a gallon size ziplock bag, pour marinade over the steak and let is soak up the juices for about 3 hours. \u00a0Don\u2019t be put off if the marinade turns your steak a little grey. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get your grill on high heat. \u00a0You may want to use a grill pan for the onions or else they may fall through your grill. \u00a0Put the onions on first and let them sizzle for about 5 &#8211; 10 minutes. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the onions are getting happy, throw on your steak and get a good sear. \u00a0About 4 &#8211; 5 minutes a side. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take everything off the grill and let the steak sit for 5 &#8211; 10 minutes so it can incorporate those tasty juices. \u00a0Slice the steak thin against the grain. \u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Chimichurri Sauce<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ingredients<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup packed cilantro chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1 cup parsley chopped<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Juice of one lime<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd cup olive oil<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bc white onion<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 &#8211; 3 cloves garlic<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 tsp cumin<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2 tsp coriander<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Salt to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00bd to 1 full jalapeno<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instructions<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a food processor combine, jalapeno, garlic, and onion.
